Hardscape Ottawa was founded on principles of building timeless outdoor living spaces. In recent years landscaping has shifted from an afterthought of the home into an extension of the living and dining areas matching and complimenting the style and architecture of the edifice. We are proudly at the forefront of this movement in Ottawa, pioneering innovative construction and engineering techniques to ensure longevity of our creations.

We are a Techo-Pro Certified company and proud members of Landscape Ontario. Hardscape Ottawa builds refined outdoor living spaces to last. Every photograph of every interlock paver landscape and special feature on this website is an installation actually built by Hardscape Ottawa.

Our design and build process is streamlined to make creating your dream outdoor living space as simple and painless as possible with the best possible end product. Each brick, light, fire and water feature we install has been specifically chosen through years of research to be the absolute best value and longest lasting products on the market.

2023 marks 17 years in the hardscape industry for company owner Matthew May. His upbringing on a local farm taught a great appreciation for nature, a penchant for hard work and a relentless desire to innovate.

After 8 years working his way up the ranks of landscape crews including 5 as a head installer, Matt created Hardscape Ottawa in 2014 to showcase his creativity and love of outdoor living spaces.

Matt works hard to elevate the landscape industry and has been featured on several industry podcasts discussing best installation techniques, design and overall landscape business strategy. He has been featured on the #IAmAHardscaper Podcast speaking about his experiences in the hardscape industry, the Pandemic Personally podcast speaking about how we adapted as a company early on during the pandemic to provide virtual service and was also a recent guest on the Hardscape Growth Podcast speaking about digital marketing techniques for contractors.

With an intimate knowledge of the latest and greatest trends in outdoor living, Matthew is an excellent coach to help you identify the scope of your project and customize your landscape design to your personal style.
